“Faith & Joy” Pt 5

“Victory”

Neh. 8:9 mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.

10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry (sorrowful); for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

You can focus on what’s on you or what’s in you!

1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

You are by nature a winner… A conqueror… A victor…

You are never defeated until you are defeated inside!

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

2Cor. 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
he put himself in us so we could reflect him…
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
if we keep going we see the results of it…

8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed;

Num. 13:25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. 26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. (trouble on every side)

30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses (Hush – this is how you go down), and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

It’s the giants in your heart that get you… not the ones you can see…

31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. (They are defeated, conquered)

14:22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;
23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it: 24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Josh. 14:10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. (what kept him so strong?)

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

God’s plan in 4 scriptures

1. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

The bible is a message of love (covenant)

his love took him to Calvary to redeem you and me from an eternal hell.

2. Col. 1:27 God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Heaven’s secret arrived in a manger, died and rose again.

To become Christ inside conscious will change every area of your life.

3. Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

“Read the red and do what he said”

He was preparing us for the outburst of Paul’s secret.

You are not a beggar, you are a believer

4. Heb. 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
faith is acting upon God’s word

Growing in God is progressive.

First, God’s love saves you (john 3:16)

Second, he moves inside you (col 1:27)

Thirdly, he advances his kingdom through you (Luke 17:21)

Fourthly, it’s all done by and through faith (heb 10:38)

“Faith & Joy” Pt 4

“From sorrow to Joy”

Neh. 8:9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep.

When you experience the joy of the Lord you are tasting your future…

Prov. 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Prov. 15:13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Rom. 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

You can’t control everything around you but you can control what you think on.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

2Cor. 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2Cor. 7:8 For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. (Yng’s “an hour)

Yng 9 I now do rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye were made sorry to reformation, for ye were made sorry toward God, that in nothing ye might receive damage from us;

Yng 10 For the sorrow toward God reformation to salvation not to be repented of doth work, and the sorrow of the world doth work death,

Nas 10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

Faith and joy is being spiritually minded…

Psa. 30:1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. 7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. 8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? 10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness

Nlt Psa. 30:11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,

12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

The Zeal of God Pt 4

“Zeal for the kingdom”

Nkjv Num. 25:10 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 11 “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal. 12 Therefore say, “Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace; 13 and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.

World English dictionary zeal:
energetic and unflagging enthusiasm, especially for a cause or idea

Webster
Zeal: a feeling of strong eagerness or excessive ferver to do something or accomplish some end

* Going totally overboard for something you are passionate about

* The unstoppable force of someone who is absolutely convinced or persuaded

3 arenas where zeal should be seen and demonstrated

1. Zeal for Jesus
2. Zeal for the harvest
3. Zeal for the kingdom of God

Zeal will cause your flesh to do what it normally would not do.

1. submission and obedience

A person who has kingdom zeal will understand the importance of unquestioned submission in heart and lifestyle and unquestioned obedience to command and request

A person who has a kingdom mentality hears authority speaking as god speaking

Honoring the scriptural chain of authority is a key to favor

The blessing comes down through the authority structure.

Respect for authority becomes essential for financial blessing

2. Giving and sacrifice

Would you serve god if there were no benefits?

Not tithing and giving is a lack of understanding of the kingdom

Without zeal you won’t do much sacrificing

3. Zeal for serving

Nas Heb. 12:28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;

Nas John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

Kjv Deut. 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Matt. 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, 3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 “Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Humility is always the requirement for servant hood

A zeal to please god and others will promote you to greatness

Luke 22:24 And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest. 25 And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called ‘Benefactors.’ 26 “But not so with you, but let him who is the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as the servant. 27 “For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table, or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

We serve God by serving others

Gal. 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another

Jesus said, when you did it to the least of these you did it to me.

Amp Rom. 12:11 Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.

Rom. 12:11 Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically.

“Faith & Joy” Pt 3

“The Force of Joy”

Neh. 8:9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.

10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

The greatest indicators you are in faith is when you get in joy

10 neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

1Pet. 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time 6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations

You can grow weaker in tests or you can grow strong.

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ

Faith and rejoicing are directly connected.

If your faith is being tried you are being tempted to despair.

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

The only way we can be depressed is if we yield to it.

The way the devil fights you is with thoughts…

Psa. 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

JOY IS THE EVIDENCE… IT QUICKENS, KEEPS YOU GOING

Phil. 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
… Be Glad in the Lord at all times… again I say, be glad

Nas 1Th. 5:16 Rejoice always,
Mess Be cheerful no matter what
Bbe Have joy at all times

Heb. 3:6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

we are to be a rejoicing house.

NKJ Heb. 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Amp Philem. 6 [And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your faith may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good [thing] that is ours in [our identification with] Christ Jesus [and unto His glory]. 7 For I have derived great joy and comfort and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints [who are your fellow Christians] have been cheered and refreshed through you, [my] brother.

We have a call on our lives to be encouragers

Prov. 25:11 Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken in right circumstances.

“Zeal for the harvest”

“Zeal for the harvest”

Nkjv Num. 25:7 Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; 8 and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel. 9 And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.
10 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 11 “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.

12 Therefore say, “Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace; 13 and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.

1. Worship
2 Areas here, our praise and giving

2. Prayer life

3. Holiness

4. Zeal for the cross

5. Zeal for his word

2. The second arena zeal should be seen and displayed is for the harvest

This 2nd arena for the harvest deals with our purpose

1. the first area for your zeal to be displayed in when it comes to the harvest is for souls

Jesus the example
Matthew 9 – Jesus saw the people as sheep
john 3 – we see insidious
john 4 – we see the woman at the well
Luke 19 – we see zaceeus
Luke 23 – we see the thief on the cross

Zeal will cause you to have value for every soul

Every church should be a soul winning church and have a zeal for the lost

Zeal for souls will cause you to fast, pray, give and go!

Zeal say’s, “I gotta do something”.

September 25th – Harvest Day! 300 People here!

You are the greatest advertisement for the local church

2. The second area of the harvest our zeal is to be displayed in, is in discipleship

This connects us to the great commission…

Zeal to make disciples and being involved in the discipleship of others is important to the harvest.

Zeal for Jesus – in worship, prayer, holiness, the cross and the word

Zeal for the harvest – souls and disciples

“Faith & Joy” Pt 2

“Joy Now”

1Pet. 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time 6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations

Rejoicing means; shouting loud, jumping, and spinning around…

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ

8 Whom having not seen, ye love;

Believing when you don’t see it pleases God.

Everything Jesus did he did by faith…

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory

The more we experience His spirit you can’t express it

8 yet believing, ye rejoice with joy

Your measure of believing may determine your measure of rejoicing…

Heb. 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

You can be so full of joy that it resembles being drunk or high…

Expressions of joy include laughing, singing, shouting & dancing…

2 who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,

Walking by sight keeps you in the present. Walking by faith keeps you in the future.

Acts 16:22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. 23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, (started crying & reasoning) and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Righteousness of God

Hebrews 9:11 So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. 12 With His —own blood, not the blood of goats and calves—He entered the Most Holy Place Once For All Time and Secured Our Redemption Forever.:13 Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.:14 Just Think How Much More the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds SO THAT we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered Himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

Conscience – an inner feeling or voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one’s behavior:

Our feelings can be devastating to our faith walk if we live sense ruled. Understanding our position in Christ Has everything to do with our ability to receive or not receive the promises of God.

Pro 23:7 For as he hath thought in his soul, so is he.

Mar_4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed WHAT YE HEAR: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

Luk_8:18 Take heed therefore HOW YE HEAR: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

ZEAL With Out Knowledge!!

Rom 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. :2 For I bear them record that they have a ZEAL OF GOD, but not according to knowledge.:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.

A ZEAL OF GOD WITH OUT KNOWLEDGE WILL PRODUCE PRIDE!

A ZEAL OF GOD WITH KNOWLEDGE FROM THE WORD WILL PRODUCE HUMILITY & GRATITUDE FOR WHAT GOD HAS AND IS DOING FOR YOU!!

Rom_10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, HAVE NOT SUBMITTED THEMSELVES UNTO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.

2 Cor 5:20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that We Could Be Made Right With God Through Christ. He is Our Righteousness!!

The Accuser Of The Brethern

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

A Guilty Conscience will cause us to shy away from God. If we listen to the voice in our head that is telling us we are guilty for this and guilty for that after a while we begin to agree with the adversary. Pretty soon we are walking around with a sense of shame and Guilt. Instead of walking by Faith and in the Authority that has been given to us as beleivers.
