A heartbeat for the Harvest

A heartbeat for the Harvest

nlt Matt 9:36 He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn’t know where to go for help. they were like sheep without a shepherd. 37 He said to his disciples, “the harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send out more workers for his fields.”

AMP – SO PRAY TO THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO FORCE OUT AND THRUST LABORERS INTO HIS HARVEST.

msg 38 On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”

when jesus was born, the entire world population was 200 million

in 1,000 ad., the population of the entire world was 300 million people

today, there is over 7 billion people living on the face of the earth

heavens concern for those not yet harvested into the kingdom

nlt Luke 15:1 Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. 2 this made the pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such despicable people—even eating with them! 3 So Jesus used this illustration: 4 “If you had one hundred sheep, and one of them strayed away and was lost in the wilderness, wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it? 5 And then you would joyfully carry it home on your shoulders. 6 When you arrived, you would call together your friends and neighbors to rejoice with you because your lost sheep was found. 7 In the same way, heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to god than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

3 parables that revealed his attitude toward sinners (the lost).

1. he was the faithful, compassionate shepherd who leaves the flock to seek the one lost sheep until it is found.

2. he taught them that he was the woman who seeks dilegently for her one lost piece of silver and then rejoices when it is found (luke 5:4-10)

3. he reveals himself as the loving father in the parable of the prodigal son who watches daily for the return of his lost son. (luke 15)

the heartbeat of jesus

Matt 9:13 I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Matt 15:24 I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Luke 19:10 For the son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

2Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise (His coming), as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

lifting up our spiritual eyes has to do with recognizing the season we are in.

too much natural and not enough spiritual will cause you to miss out on the harvest

jesus told his disciples to “lift up their eyes”

John 4:35 Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, i say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal

the harvest is not for the next generation.

the initial and most important way to prepare for and participate in the harvest is through prayer

PRAYER IS OUR INITIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN PREPARING FOR HARVEST.

what jesus said concerning the signs of the times.

Luke 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the son of man.

NLT 34 “Watch out! don’t let me find you living in careless ease and drunkenness, and filled with the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, 35 as in a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth.
36 Keep a constant watch. And pray that, if possible, you may escape these horrors and stand before the son of man.”

In the Throne Room

In the Throne Room

Hebrews 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Isaiah 6:1 In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.

Revelation 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. 3 And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.

Ezekiel 1:26 Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.

27 Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like glowing metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him. 28 As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

Rev 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads.

5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God;

Ezekiel 1:13 In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches darting back and forth among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire. 14 And the living beings ran to and fro like bolts of lightning.

Isaiah 6:2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.”

Revelation 4:6 and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. 7 The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. 8 And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”

9 And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Ezekiel 1:5 Within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form. 6 Each of them had four faces and four wings. 7 Their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf’s hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze. 8 Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, 9 their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward. 10 As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on

the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle. 11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies. 12 And each went straight forward; wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go, without turning as they went.

24 I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.

15 Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them.16 The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another. 17 Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions without turning as they moved. 18 As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about. 19 Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. And whenever the living beings rose from the earth, the wheels rose also.

20 Wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go in that direction. And the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels. 21 Whenever those went, these went; and whenever those stood still, these stood still. And whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.

Revelation 5:6 And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. 7 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 8 When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Isaiah 6:4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. 5 Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.”

PRAYER AND FASTING FOR BREAKTHROUGH

PRAYER AND FASTING FOR BREAKTHROUGH

James 5:7-8 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the lord is at hand.

16 The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Zch 10:1 Ask the Lord for rain In the time of the latter rain.

NLT 1 Pet 4:7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

Mark 2:18 And John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came and said to Him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?” 19 And Jesus said to them, “While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom do not fast, do they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 “But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

Jesus fasted and he taught his disciples to fast!

there are 2 different types of fasting recorded in the bible. private fasts & public fasts.

only 10% of the fasts recorded in the bible were private.

90% of the fasts recorded in the bible were public fasts.

there are different lengths of fasts in the bible…

1 day – 3 days – 21 days – 40 days

if we will fast, god will bless us and prepare us for the events of the coming year.

fasting does not change god it changes you…

Luke 21:29 And He told them a parable: “Behold the fig tree and all the trees; 30 as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 “Even so you, too, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near. 32 “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place. 33 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. 34 “Be on guard, that your hearts may not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day come on you suddenly like a trap;

Hearing the voice of god and direction is the most valuable thing you can have.

4 desires that greatly motivate people.

the desire for food, sex, money and the supernatural

the goal of the flesh is for the desire for God to be pushed down so far that a person cannot hear anything from God.

cev Luke 21:34 Don’t spend all of your time thinking about eating or drinking or worrying about life. If you do, the final day will suddenly catch you

sexual sins that have bound your life can be broken when you fast and pray.

FASTING IS POSITIONING ONESELF TO RELEASE GOD’S SUPERNATURAL POWER.

always remember victory comes after the fast not during.

NkJ Rev. 2:1 “To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars 3 And you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

THEY HAD RESPONSIBILITY WITHOUT ROMANCE

5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

RESTORE YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that he had answered them well, asked him, “what commandment is the foremost of all?”29 Jesus answered, “the foremost is, ‘hear, o Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 “The second is this, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

WHAT IS THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF LOVING GOD?

Matt 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

NLT Luke 14:15 Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “what a privilege it would be to have a share in the kingdom of God!” 16 Jesus replied with this illustration: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. 17 When all was ready, he sent his servant around to notify the guests that it was time for them to come. 18 But they all began making excuses. One said he had just bought a field and wanted to inspect it, so he asked to be excused. 19 Another said he had just bought five pair of oxen and wanted to try them out. 20 Another had just been married, so he said he couldn’t come. 21 “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was angry and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the city and invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.’

22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘there is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24 For none of those i invited first will get even the smallest taste of what i had prepared for them.

25 Great crowds were following Jesus. He turned around and said to them, 26 “if you want to be my follower you must love me more than your own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, more than your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. 27 And you cannot be my disciple if you do not carry your own cross and follow me.

33 So no one can become my disciple without giving up everything for me.

THE NEW TESTAMENT COMMANDMENT IS TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER
