“Commitment to the will of God”
nas 2Sam. 5: 20 So David came to Baal-perazim, and defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters.” Therefore he named that place Baal-perazim.
baal-perazim means “lord of the breakings through”
commitment to the revealed will of God.
the prime contributor to you experiencing the supernatual push you need is being committed to the revealed will of God.
the power of God is available for your life to enable your pursuit of his purpose.
- committed to the wrong thing,
- they don’t stay committed
- they don’t commit at all.
commitment is the keynote of success in the kingdom.
the bible is filled with words that discribe commitment.
covenant is an exchange – it requires an active commitment on the part of both parties for it to operate.
many factors that reveal our commitment.
money – Luke 16:9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that when it fails, they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. 10 “He who is faithful in a very little thing (kjv-that which is least) is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. 11 “If therefore you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous mammon, who will entrust the true riches to you?
12 “And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is anothers, who will give you that which is your own? 13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Psa. 50:14 “Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High; 15 And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”
Job 22:27 “You will pray to Him, and He will hear you; And you will pay your vows.
Mal. 1:14 “But cursed be the swindler who has a male in his flock, and vows it, but sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord, for I am a great King,” says the LORD of hosts, “and My name is feared among the nations.”
Psa. 76:11 Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; Let all who are around Him bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.
God expects us to live a committed lifestyle.
Heb. 3:1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.
confession means commitment – a proffession of your commitment to his heavenly calling.
webster commit means; to pledge, obligate or promise oneself.
noun – the state of being obligated and emotionally impelled.
Commitment is the state of being obligated and emotionally impelled.
What are you passionately committed to when it comes to the things of God?
Heb. 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.
