“Get Your Praise On” Pt 5

“Engaging the heart”

PRAISE CHANGES YOUR CLIMATE, IT POSITIONS YOU, AND IT PRECEEDS VICTORY AND IT BREAKS LIMITATIONS!

THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS A LIFESTYLE OF PRAISE.

1. PRAISE IS DONE WITH THE MOUTH – LIPS… A SOUND…

Ps 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

KJV Heb. 13:15 by him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

PRAISERS MOVE INTO A FLOW THAT OTHERS WON’T

GOD’S STRATEGIES DON’T ALWAYS LOOK PRACTICAL! Ex. Jericho

Ps 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, 7 to execute vengeance on the nations

2. WE PRAISE WITH OUR HEARTS

Psa. 9:1 I will thank you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.

Psa. 86:12 With all my heart I will praise you, o Lord my God.
I will give glory to your name forever,

Psa 111:1 Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart, In the company of the upright and in the assembly.

THE HEART (SPIRIT) MUST BE ENGAGED.

THE SOUL THAT’S FULL OVERFLOWS WITH JOYFUL PRAISE!

Ex. KING DAVID…
2 Samuel 6:14-16, David danced before the Lord with all his might.
Michal saw him leaping, and dancing before the lord. Despised him

Vs 20-22 “I will play before the Lord”

3. WE PRAISE HIM WITH OUR POSTURE

A. WITH HANDS –
Psa. 134:2 Lift your hands in holiness, and bless the lord.

Psa 141:2 Let my prayer be set before you as incense,
the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Psa. 28:2 Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.

Psa. 63:1 O god, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. 3 Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself; how I praise you! 4 I will honor you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. 5 You satisfy me more than the richest of foods. I will praise you with songs of joy.

KJV PSA. 134:1 Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the house of the Lord. 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.

1Tim. 2:8 So wherever you assemble, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.

POSTURES OF PRAISE; STANDING, BOWING, LYING PROSTRATE.

Get Your Praise On!

1. Praise is something we Put On

Is. 61:1Message The Spirit of GOD, the Master, is on me because GOD

anointed me.

He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken,

Announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners.

Is. 61:2 GOD sent me to announce the year of his grace—a celebration of

God’s destruction of our enemies—and to comfort all who mourn,

Is. 61:3 To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets

of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a

praising heart instead of a languid spirit. (KJV-actually says to give them a

‘garment’ of praise for the spirit of heaviness) Rename them “Oaks of

Righteousness” planted by GOD to display his glory.

Is. 61:4 They’ll rebuild the old ruins, raise a new city out of the wreckage.

They’ll start over on the ruined cities, take the rubble left behind and make

it new.

Esther 5:1Amp “On the third day [of the fast] Esther put on her royal robes

an stood in the royal or inner court of the king’s palace opposite his

[throne room]. The king was sitting on his throne, facing the main entrance

of the palace.”

Heb. 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise

to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Psa. 149:6NKJV Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-

edged sword in their hand

2. Praise is Partnered with Passion

2 Tim 1:6Amp That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the

embers of, fan the flame of , and keep burning] the [gracious] gift of God,

[the inner fire] that isin you by means of the laying on of my hands [with

those of the elder at your ordination].

3. Praise is Pretty on you! Appropriate

Psalm 147:1Amp Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing prasies to our God,

for He is gracious and lovely; praise is becoming and appropriate.

Psalm 33:1Amp Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous

[you upright in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and

appropriate for those who are upright [in heart].

Psalm 34:1NASV I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall

continually be in my mouth.

4. Praise promotes God’s participation in your life.

Psa. 22:3NKJV But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

5. Praise will preserve you or repair you!

Jonah 2:9Amp “ But as for me, I will sacrifice to You with the voice of

thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation and deliverance

belong to the Lord.”

“Get Your Praise On” Pt 4

“Engaging the heart”

PRAISE CHANGES YOUR CLIMATE.
PRAISE POSITIONS YOU,
PRAISE PRECEDES VICTORY!

THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS A LIFESTYLE OF PRAISE.

PRAISE EXPRESSES APPRECIATION, GRATITUDE, HAPPINESS AND AFFECTION

A. SO HOW DO WE DO IT?
WITH OUR MOUTH or LIPS – IT IS AN UTTERANCE!

KJV Heb. 13:15 by Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (THAT NAME GLORIFIED)

Heb 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

THE APPROACH TO THE THRONE SHOULD BE BOLD!

THE THRONE HAS A LOCATION
Ps 22:3 Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel.

PRAISE IS GOD’S ADDRESS. IF YOU WANT TO BE WHERE HE IS, YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO OFFER HIM PRAISE.

Ps 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

PRAISE IS THE WAY INTO GOD’S PRESENCE…
Isa 60:18 Violence will not be heard again in your land, Nor devastation or destruction within your borders; But you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise.

GRATEFUL PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE AN ACCESS TO MORE!

PAUL AND SILAS
Acts 16:25 but about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; 26 And suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains were unfastened.

LIMITATIONS & HINDRANCES ARE REMOVED THROUGH PRAISE!

Rev. 19:1 After this, I heard the sound of a vast crowd in heaven shouting, “hallelujah! Salvation is from our God. Glory and power belong to Him alone.

THE EXPRESSIONS OF HIS LOVE DEMAND PRAISE, EVEN SHOUTS!

IF YOU DON’T LEARN TO ENGAGE YOUR HEART IN PRAISE YOU WON’T ENGAGE YOUR HEART (SPIRIT) WHEN ENEMY ATTACKS…

THE SOUL THAT’S FULL OVERFLOWS WITH JOYFUL PRAISE!

Ex. KING DAVID… 2 Samuel 6:14-16, David danced before the Lord with all his might.
Michal saw him leaping, and dancing before the lord. Despised him

Vs 20-22 “I will play before the Lord”

“Get Your Praise On” Pt 2

“Position Yourselves”

Psa. 107:21 Let them praise the lord for his great love and for all his wonderful deeds to them. 22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.

He’s provided a mantle for us! Is 61

LUCIFER WAS ORIGINALLY IN CHARGE OF THE MUSIC OF HEAVEN.
Ezk 28:13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.

MUSIC AND PRAISE WAS AND IS INTENDED FOR GOD.

Ps 42:8 The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime;
And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.

PRAISE POSITIONS YOU!

SO HOW DO WE DO IT?

WITH OUR MOUTH or LIPS
Psa. 109:30 With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the lord; and in the midst of many I will praise him.

Psa 34:1 I will bless the lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Psa 63:3 Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in your name. 5 My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.

Psa 71:8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

AT THE DEDICATION OF THE TEMPLE:
2 Chr. 5:13 in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the lord saying, “He indeed is good for his lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of god.

REMEMBER JEHOSHAPHAT – 2Chr. 20:1Now it came about after this that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, together with some of the Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat. 2 Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, out of Aram and behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi).” 3 Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to seek help from the Lord; they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek the Lord.

12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

15 Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.

17 You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.”

AMP – Take your positions!

20 When they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the Lord your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed.”
21 When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy attire,

WE NEED TO BE SKILLED PRAISERS BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO EXPERIENCE OPPOSITION…

Vs 17 SAID, “Go out and face them”.

THIS POSITION OF PRAISE IS SOMETHING YOU CHOOSE NOT SOMETHING GOD ASSIGNS YOU.

PRACTICE PRAISE… CULTIVATE PRAISE… DO IT WITH YOUR MOUTH.

PRAISERS ARE PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO KEEP SINGING WHEN THEY DON’T SEE WHAT IS DESIRED.

21 When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy attire, (The beauty of holiness) (Holy array – attire)

as they went out before the army and said, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.” 22 When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were routed.
