GOD’S PRESENCE STAYED WITH THEM… LIGHT & SHADE

THE VISIBLE EVIDENCE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT OF HIS PRESENCE IS SPEAKING IN TONGUES

THE BIG SIGN THAT HE’S COME IS TONGUES & PROPHECY.

LYNN HAMMOND

Tongues is the language of heaven…

it is downloaded in your spirit, and at the reception of the holy spirit, the language is released.

that language will change the world and it will change you.

when used (language), because it is accompanied by the fire of god, the language carries the very essence and the nature of god to any and every situation.

the language of the spirit is very individualized and personalized, marking each person with heavens label.

that label say’s, this is mine to work through.

there’s more revelation to be had in this area…

the more you understand speaking in tongues the more you will give way and yield to it, growing exponentially

speaking in tongues is a sign to arrest, attract and indicate that the presence of god is here.

it is the gateway and the door to the supernatural

the holy spirit will bring the full expression of heaven through believers gathered

DEFINITIONS OF SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES;

Strange language

Ecstatic utterance

Diversities of tongues

Speaking in ecstacy

Speaking sacred truths

Inexpressable yearnings

Inarticulate groans

Speaking mysteries

KENNETH E HAGIN

Tongues is a supernatural utterance by the Holy Spirit in languages never learned by the speaker, not understood by the mind of the speaker, not necessarily understood by the hearer. Speaking in tongues has nothing whatever to do with linguistic language. It has nothing to do with your mind and the intellect of man. It is a vocal miracle

Amp Rom 8:26 So too the Holy Spirit [comes to our aid] and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for words. 27 And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is [His intent], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with and in harmony with God’s will.

TO GET A GOD RESULT, WE NEED HEAVEN’S LANGUAGE.

Ex. PRAYING FOR YOUR FUTURE… YOU DON’T KNOW EVERYTHING

PRAYING IN TONGUES ALLOWS YOU TO BECOME A VEHICLE FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT TO SPEAK THROUGH.

TRANSLATIONS Rom 8:26

The Holy Spirit gives us assistance in our weakness;

The Holy Spirit gives help in our infirmity (inability to produce results).

The Holy Spirit takes hold on the other end. He helps because we are so limited.

When we can’t choose the right words in order to pray properly, the Spirit expresses our plea in a way that could never be put into our words.

We also have the Spirit who compensates for our inadequacies.

Jude 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

1 Cor 14:4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies (builds) himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.

GOD’S PLAN AND WILL FOR EVERY BELIEVER UNDER THE NEW COVENANT IS TO BE FILLED

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

SPEAKING IN TONGUES IS THE INITIAL SIGN OR EVIDIENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT’S INDWELLING.

The greatest experience that a believer can have is the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. It is this experience that enables us and empowers us to live in and live out the fullness of that revelation.

THE USE AND BENEFIT OF TONGUES (HEAVENLY LANGUAGE)?

1 Cor 14:1Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.

PAUL TEACING THE CORINTHIANS ABOUT 9 GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

1 Cor 12:10 “various kinds of tongues”

DIFFERENT KINDS… DIVERSITIES – DIFFERENT IN PURPOSE AND USE

IN THE 28TH Vs PAUL REFERES TO “VARIOUS TONGUES” AGAIN TALKING ABOUT THE BODY OF CHRIST AND THE DIFFERENT MEMBERS.

28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues. 29 All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? all are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?

30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? 31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts.

ONE OF THE VARIOUS KINDS OF TONGUEs IS FOR THE USE IN A PUBLIC ASSEMBLY…

14:26 What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret; 28 But if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; And let him speak to himself and to God.

THE OTHER VARIATION OF TONGUES IS that ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN BAPTIZED IN THE SPIRIT CAN PRAY IN TONGUES

14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also.

18 I thank God, I speak in tongues more than you all

19 However, in the church I desire to speak five words with my mind so that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue.

1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

Matt 3:11 As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.

46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered, 47 “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” 48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

JOHN G LAKE – “The greatest revelation that a believer can possess is Col 1:27 Christ in you the hope of glory”…..

The realization that not only is Jesus seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father but through the person of the Holy Spirit he has taken up residence in our hearts with the anticipation of revealing himself in all of his fullness, all of his love, mercy, goodness and his power to the people we come into contact with.

The greatest experience that a believer can have is the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. It is this experience that enables us and empowers us to live in and live out the fullness of that revelation.

SALVATION; BEING TRANSLATED OUT OF DARKNESS AND INTO LIGHT, BEING SEATED WITH JESUS IN HEAVENLY PLACES IS ONE THING BUT BEING EMPOWERED IS ANOTHER.

there is a DISTINCT difference between being born of the spirit and being baptised in the spirit

A DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE SPIRIT WITHIN AND THE SPIRIT UPON.

Bro hagin said, “the world needs to be taught to receive jesus, the church needs to be taught to receive the holy Spirit.

Acts 8:5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ to them. 6 The crowds with one accord were giving attention to what was said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing. 7 For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them shouting with a loud voice; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 So there was much rejoicing in that city.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.

14 Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, 15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.

Vs 18 say’s “Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles hands, and he offered them money”

THIS EXPERIENCE CAN BE SEEN AND HEARD. (Acts 19:6) (Acts 2)

Acts 9:17 So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

JESUS SAID, Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD’S GIFT TO HIS CHILDREN, NOT SINNERS.

Mark 2:22 “No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins as well; but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins.”

JESUS IS GOD’S GIFT TO THE WORLD, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD’S GIFT TO HIS CHILDREN.

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WELL AND A RIVER… John 4 AND John 7

“Did you receive the Holy Spirit?”

John 7:37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.’” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Acts 19:1And it came about that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found some disciples, 2 and he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 And when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. (they started drinking)

7 And there were in all about twelve men.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

you can be born of the spirit but not baptized in the spirit.

the disciples were born of the spirit in John 20 before the day of penticost but they were not baptized in the holy spirit.

there are two things to receive. did you get them both?

Acts 19:3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?”

4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

5 when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

THE SPIRIT IN HIS FULNESS HAD NOT COME UPON THEM.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them
