RAISING SUCCESSFUL KIDS

Ps 127:3 Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. 5 How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Ps 128:1 How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways. 2 When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you. 3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table. 4 Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed

Who fears the Lord.

1. A GOOD WIFE AND MOM

IT’S THE PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO TRANSFER THE WORD FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT.

RAISING KIDS IS LIKE LAUNCHING A SHIP FROM THE HARBOR. WHAT ARE YOU SENDING OUT?

  1. BE A VERY HANDS ON DAD – NOT AN ABSENT DAD

THAT INCLUDES BEING STRONG WITH BOUNDARIES BUT NOT OVERBOARD.

  1. YOU MUST BE A FULL TIME LOVER OF THE WORD

Deut 6:6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

10-12 WHEN THE LORD BLESSES YOU, YOU DON’T FORGET HIM.

  1. FEAR THE LORD

13 You shall fear only the Lord your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name.

24 So the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God for our good always and for our survival, as it is today.

  1. COMMAND YOUR KIDS AND WHOLE FAMILY

CONCERNING ABRAHAM – Gen 18:19 For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.

Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger (TO FEEL BITTER OR CAUSE A GRUDGE), but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

THAT’S CALLED MOLDING A CHILD WITHOUT BREAKING THEIR SELF IMAGE.

AS A PARENT, YOU ARE INVOLVED IN THE DETAILS… FOLLOW UP!

  1. INVEST TIME INTO THEM

THERE ARE ABOUT 3 SEASONS IN THE LIFE OF YOUR KIDS BEFORE THEY LAUNCH OUT.

THE FIRST STAGE YOU ARE TRYING TO TEACH THEM RESPECT (1-5)

Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

THE 2ND STAGE (6-10) YOU ARE TRYING TO TEACH RESPONSIBILITY

THE 3RD STAGE (12–18) YOU ARE TRYING TO TEACH THEM REPRODUCTION

THINK ABOUT THEM REPRODUCING YOUR VALUES.

GIVE THEM OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE DECESIONS

RELATIONSHIPS, TEACHING THEM TO GUARD THEIR HEART.

YOU NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THEY ARE, AND WHO THEY ARE WITH UP UNTIL THE TIME THEY LEAVE YOUR HOME.

THE GREATEST THING YOU CAN GIVE YOUR KIDS IS AFFIRMATION

  1. WORSHIP THE LORD WITH THEM AND KEEP THEM IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

THEY NEED TO KNOW JESUS, THE HOLY SPIRIT, GOD FOR THEMSELVES.

Ps 112:1 Praise the Lord! How blessed is the man who fears the Lord,

Who greatly delights in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth;

The generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.
