ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE 1

“FAITH FOR THE MIRACULOUS”

Jer 32:17 ‘Ah Lord God! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for you,

26 Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, “behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; Is anything too difficult for me?”

MESS Stay alert! I am God, the God of everything living. Is there anything I can’t do?

JUDGES 6 – STORY OF GIDEON

Vs 13 Then Gideon said to him, “o my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

THE CHURCH SUFFERES UNNECESSARILY FOR A LACK OF FAITH, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ETC…

1 Cor 2:4 And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

WE REASON OUR WAY OUT OF A MIRACLE SOMETIMES THINKING WE HAVE TO WAIT.

OUR THINKING CAUSES US TO MISS GOD’S “IMMEDIATELY”!

NAS Gal 3:5 Does he then, who provides you with the spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?

NLT It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.

THE DEFINITION OF MIRACLE:  AN ACT OR EVENT THAT SEEMS TO TRANSCEND OR CONTRADICT ALL KNOWN NATURAL OR SCIENTIFIC LAWS AND IS USUALLY THOUGHT TO BE SUPERNATURAL IN ORIGIN.

MIRACLES ARE THE MANIFESTATION OF THE GLORY OF GOD… A RELEASE OF HIS ABILITY ON OUR BEHALF

THIS STATEMENT PUTS A BELIEVER IN THE PLACE WITH GOD!

SAME STORY IN Matt 17:20 And He *said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

THE CORE OF LIFE Pt 6

“Reproduction of love”

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not knowGod, for God is love.

ANY AREA OF FEAR IN OUR LIFE IS CAUSED BY A LACK OF REVELATION OF GOD’S LOVE TOWARDS US

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

THIS IS THE DISTINGUSING MARK OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN

2 Cor 1 Paul talks about going through some tough times. God ministered to him through a Christian brother.

GOD HAS ORDAINED THAT A LOT OF WHAT YOU RECEIVE COMES FROM OTHER BODY PARTS.

JESUS DID NOT JUST PAY THE PRICE TO REDEEM US.  HE ALSO INTENDED TO REPRODUCE HIMSELF IN US.

John 12:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

YOU AND I ARE TO BE CHRIST, REPRODUCED AND MANIFEST IN THE EARTH.

1 Cor 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.       DID HE SAY, “I’M NOT MUCH”? :0)

3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind

PATIENCE MEANS; YOU PUT UP WITH, A LONG TIME.

WALKING IN LOVE IS WALKING BY FAITH.  BY THE SPIRIT.

A SPIRITUAL PERSON IS IN CONTROL OF THEIR EMOTIONS. WORDS, ACTIONS…

LOVE IS KIND…

YOU ARE WHAT YOU HAVE BECOME, NOT WHAT YOU HAVE TO BE.

Fear of the Lord 2

Psalm 147:11 The Lord favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS USED 745 X’S IN THE BIBLE

IT WAS A PREREQUISIT FOR LEADERSHIP

2 Samuel 23:3 The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me:

‘He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.

WE SAW IT IN THE LIFE OF JESUS – A MANIFESTATION OF THE SPIRIT THAT MARKED HIS MINISTRY!

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

3 And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,

Eccl 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

DEFINITIONS: AWE, MAJESTY…

IT’S A WHOLESOME DREAD OF DISPLEASING HIM

IT IS A CONSTANT AWARENESS OF MY ACCOUNTABILITY TO GOD.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS A NEW TESTAMENT CONCEPT

REVERANCE – REVERANCE IS A RESPONSE TO A REVELATION OF GOD

Psalm 34:11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Deut 31:12 Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the alien who is in your town, so that they may hear and learn and fear the Lord your God, and be careful to observe all the words of this law. 13 Their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live on the land which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess.”

Deut 14:22 You shall surely tithe all the produce from what you sow, which comes out of the field every year. You shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.

Mess In this way you will learn to live in deep reverence before God, your God, as long as you live.

NLT Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God.

Prov 3:9 Honor the Lord from your wealth And from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Mal 1:6 ‘A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?’ says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, ‘How have we despised Your name?’ 7 You are presenting defiled food upon My altar. But you say, ‘How have we defiled You?’ In that you say, ‘The table of the Lord is to be despised.’ 8 But when you present the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And when you present the lame and sick, is it not evil? Why not offer it to your governor? Would he be pleased with you? Or would he receive you kindly?” says the Lord of hosts.

Mal 3:6 For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. 7 “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’ You Have Robbed God 8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessinguntil it overflows.

Gen 14:17 Then after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High. 19 He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” He gave him a tenth of all.

Gen 22:12 He said, “Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

Heb 7:6 But the one whose genealogy is not traced from them collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises. 7 But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater. 8 In this case mortal men receive tithes, but in that case one receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives on.

Mal 4:1 For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” 2 “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.

Hag 1:12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him. And the people showed reverence for the Lord.

THE CORE OF LIFE Pt 5

“Spend and be expended”

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not knowGod, for God is love.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

THE TRUE MARK OF A CHRISTIAN;

THE BASIS AND OPERATION OF OUR FAITH;

THE MEANS WHERE BY ALL FEAR IS EXPELLED…

TWO BASIC LAWS, THE LAW OF THE FLESH OR THE LAW OF CHRIST.

REAL JOY COMES FROM LAYING YOUR LIFE DOWN FOR OTHERS.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE DOING IT RIGHT BECAUSE THERE IS JOY,

SACRIFICE IS GODLY WHEN IT IS HELPING OTHERS.

2 Cor 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

2 Cor 12:10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles. 13 For in what respect were you treated as inferior to the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not become a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!

14 Here for this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I do not seek what is yours, but you; for children are not responsible to save up for their parents, but parents for their children. 15 I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

YOU CANNOT SEPARATE THIS KIND OF LOVE WITH JOY

YOUR “WANT TO” IS BIG TO GOD.

Phil 1:19 for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

To Live Is Christ

21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 21 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. 23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; (FOR WHO?) 24 yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,

LOVE IS STRONGER THAN ANYTHING.  IT WILL HOLD YOU STEADY

REQUIREMENT FOR LEADERSHIP

Exodus 18:21 Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

3 And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,

Heb 5:7 In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.

KJV Because of his godly fear

NLT because of his deep reverence for God.

REVERANCE IS A RESPONSE TO A REVELATION OF GOD

AWE, MAJESTY AND POWER

IT’S A WHOLESOME DREAD OF DISPLEASING HIM

IT IS A CONSTANT AWARENESS OF MY ACCOUNTABILITY TO GOD.

IT IS A SUBMISSIVENESS TOWARDS HIM… HUMILITY

Heb 12:28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;

AMP Eccl 12:13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.

NEW TESTAMENT

Acts 9:31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men

2 Cor 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

EPH 6:10-17

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[a]are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[b] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[c]17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

2 Tim. 1:7

GEN. 29:16-30

16 Now Laban had two daughters. The older daughter was named Leah, and the younger one was Rachel. 17 There was no sparkle in Leah’s eyes,[a] but Rachel had a beautiful figure and a lovely face. 18 Since Jacob was in love with Rachel, he told her father, “I’ll work for you for seven years if you’ll give me Rachel, your younger daughter, as my wife.”

19 “Agreed!” Laban replied. “I’d rather give her to you than to anyone else. Stay and work with me.” 20 So Jacob worked seven years to pay for Rachel. But his love for her was so strong that it seemed to him but a few days.

21 Finally, the time came for him to marry her. “I have fulfilled my agreement,” Jacob said to Laban. “Now give me my wife so I can sleep with her.”

22 So Laban invited everyone in the neighborhood and prepared a wedding feast. 23 But that night, when it was dark, Laban took Leah to Jacob, and he slept with her. 24 (Laban had given Leah a servant, Zilpah, to be her maid.)

25 But when Jacob woke up in the morning—it was Leah! “What have you done to me?” Jacob raged at Laban. “I worked seven years for Rachel! Why have you tricked me?”

26 “It’s not our custom here to marry off a younger daughter ahead of the firstborn,” Laban replied. 27 “But wait until the bridal week is over; then we’ll give you Rachel, too—provided you promise to work another seven years for me.”

28 So Jacob agreed to work seven more years. A week after Jacob had married Leah, Laban gave him Rachel, too. 29 (Laban gave Rachel a servant, Bilhah, to be her maid.)30 So Jacob slept with Rachel, too, and he loved her much more than Leah. He then stayed and worked for Laban the additional seven years.

31 When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, he enabled her to have children, but Rachel could not conceive. 32 So Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben,[b] for she said, “The Lord has noticed my misery, and now my husband will love me.”

DON’T CONNECT YOUR PAIN TO GODS BLESSING

33 She soon became pregnant again and gave birth to another son. She named him Simeon,[c] for she said, “The Lord heard that I was unloved and has given me another son.”

34 Then she became pregnant a third time and gave birth to another son. He was named Levi,[d] for she said, “Surely this time my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons!”

COLOSSIANS 3:23

Matt. 16:25

24-26 Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?

A LIFE FULLY SURRENDERED TO GOD IS A LIFE OF TAKING THE NEXT STEPS, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST IS

2 COR. 11:23-28

23-27 I’ve worked much harder, been jailed more often, beaten up more times than I can count, and at death’s door time after time. I’ve been flogged five times with the Jews’ thirty-nine lashes, beaten by Roman rods three times, pummeled with rocks once. I’ve been shipwrecked three times, and immersed in the open sea for a night and a day. In hard traveling year in and year out, I’ve had to ford rivers, fend off robbers, struggle with friends, struggle with foes. I’ve been at risk in the city, at risk in the country, endangered by desert sun and sea storm, and betrayed by those I thought were my brothers. I’ve known drudgery and hard labor, many a long and lonely night without sleep, many a missed meal, blasted by the cold, naked to the weather. And that not the half of it,

HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THEM THAT PREACHED THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, AND BRING GLAD TIDING OF GOOD THINGS  (ROMANS 10:15)

  1. ITS NOT AS BAD AS YOU THINK

2 COR. 4:17

THESE HARD TIMES ARE SMALL POTATOES COMPARED TO THE COMING GOOD TIMES, THE LAVISH CELEBRATION PREPARED FOR US. THERE’S FAR MORE HERE THAN MEETS THE EYE. THE THINGS WE SEE NOW ARE HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW. BUT THE THINGS WE CANT SEE NOW WILL LAST FOREVER

2) NO REGRETS

ACTS 20:22-27

22-24 “But there is another urgency before me now. I feel compelled to go to Jerusalem. I’m completely in the dark about what will happen when I get there. I do know that it won’t be any picnic, for the Holy Spirit has let me know repeatedly and clearly that there are hard times and imprisonment ahead. But that matters little. What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God.

25-27 “And so this is good-bye. You’re not going to see me again, nor I you, you whom I have gone among for so long proclaiming the news of God’s inaugurated kingdom. I’ve done my best for you, given you my all, held back nothing of God’s will for you.

3) WE ARE NOT GIVING UP

2 COR. 4:9-18

We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us—trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us—he lives! Our lives are at constant risk for Jesus’ sake, which makes Jesus’ life all the more evident in us. While we’re going through the worst, you’re getting in on the best!

13-15 We’re not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, “I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!

16-18 So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.

ISAIAH 41:10

I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’
Don’t panic. I’m with you.
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.

4) WE ARE NOT GIVING UP ON OTHERS

GAL. 6:2-5

Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived.
