Overcoming Fear Pt 9

“Fear mixed with good is not ok”

1 John 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (Dwells) in him, and he in God. 16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.  17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.18 There is no fear in love;

AMP 18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror!

WNT 18 Love has in it no element of fear; but perfect love drives away fear, because fear involves pain, (TORMENT, – TORTURE)

IF YOU ARE IN FAITH YOU ARE IN REST.

Matt 25:25 One man had taken his talent and hid it in the ground.

THE BLESSING OF INCREASE IS THE MULTIPLICATION OF THE SEED.
IT TAKES FAITH TO SOW IT, AND IT TAKES FAITH TO HARVEST IT.

25 And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground.

THE LORD IS LOOKING AT YOUR HEART.
A HEART THAT IS PERFECT/COMPLETE TOWARDS HIM IS A HEART THAT IS FULL OF FAITH AND LOVE, WITH NO FEAR.
IN LIFE AND MINISTRY PEOPLE MAKE THE MISTAKE OF COMPARING THEIR SELF AND EXPERIENCE WITH THE NEED.
WE DEVELOP IN THE DOING…

NEVER TALK ABOUT OR CONFESS, WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW AND WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE, WHAT YOU CAN’T DO…

THE MORE YOU TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE OR DON’T KNOW YOU BECOME MORE AWARE OF IGNORANCE AND LACK

John 8:29 And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”

Love Out Loud Pt 4

“From the Heart” Pt 2

1 Pet 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

Pass 1 Tim 1:5 For we reach the goal of fulfilling all the commandments when we love others deeply with a pure heart

  1. HOSPITALITY

AMP Rom 12:13 pursue the practice of hospitality.

1 Pet 4:9 Be hospitable to one another without complaint.

     2. EVANGELISM

NAS Mark 16:15 And he said to them, “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

CHURCH IS NOT A BLESS ME CLUB!

Acts 2:41 so then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

WE ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH.

POWER COMES AND LOVE FLOWS WHERE PEOPLE ARE.
PEOPLE OF LOVE REACH OUT AND THINK ABOUT OTHERS.

A CHURCH THAT IS NOT MISSION MINDED, WILL BECOME A MISSION FIELD.

        3. ADAPTABLE

  1. ABLE TO ADJUST EASILY TO CHANGES AND NEW CONDITIONS
  2. CAPABLE OF BEING MODIFIED TO SUIT DIFFERENT PURPOSES OR CONDITIONS – (PEOPLE)

WE HAVE TO BE READY TO CHANGE

WE ARE NOT HERE TO BUILD A MONUMENT.  WE ARE HERE TO REACH PEOPLE.

WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE AN APPEAL TO THE PEOPLE WE WANT TO REACH.

      4. RESPONSIBLE

Nas 1Pet 5:1 Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder

2 Shepherd (feed) the flock of god among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of god; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; 3 nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. 4 and when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders;

5 And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

A PASTOR SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE CHURCH BY THE WAY HE LIVES.

YOU LIVE A RESPONSIBLE LIFE BEFORE OTHERS AND THE WORLD BECAUSE YOU REPRESENT GOD

2nd A RESPONSIBLE CHURCH THINKS OF ITS IMPRESSION ON THE COMMUNITY.

A CHURCH WITH A HEART HAS A RESPONSIBLE ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE COMMUNITY.

     5. TENDER – KEEP A TENDER SPIRIT.

Nas eph. 4:32 And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

A CHURCH IS IN THE PEOPLE BUSINESS

IF YOU CAN KEEP YOUR HEART RIGHT, NOBODY CAN HURT YOU.

KEEP A TENDER HEART, GOOD MOTIVES, FORGIVE – OVERLOOK.

Overcoming Fear Pt 8

“The Place of Rest”

LIVING FEAR FREE REQUIRES MIND RENEWAL.

SOUL REST COMES FROM A RENEWED MIND.  (Matt 11:28-29)

IF YOU ARE STRESSED OUT… YOU ARE NOT RESTING SPIRITUALLY!

Hebrews 4:1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.

2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united (MIXED) by faith in those who heard.

3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,

“As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest,”

although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

WHAT’S GIVEN BY GRACE MUST BE POSSESSED BY FAITH.

4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this passage, “They shall not enter My rest.” 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before,  “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

1 John 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (Dwells) in him, and he in God.   WE REALLY DO LIVE IN HIM.

16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love;

WHEN WE DWELL IN LOVE, WE DWELL IN A FEAR FREE PLACE.

AMP 18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist],

WE ARE TO LIVE IN A PLACE WHERE DREAD DOESN’T EVEN EXIST.

AMP 18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror!

WNT Love has in it no element of fear; but perfect love drives away fear

WNT 18 Love has in it no element of fear; but perfect love drives away fear, because fear involves pain, (TORMENT, – TORTURE)

Matt 25:46 “These shall go away to everlasting punishment”

FEAR HAS HELLS ENVIRONMENT.

Deut talks about experiencing days of heaven on the earth.

Love Out Loud Pt 3

“With heart”

Song of Solomon 2:4 He has brought me to his banquet hall,
And his banner over me is love.

LOVE IS THE BANNER WE ARE TO CARRY!
LOVING OTHERS FIRST BEGINS WITH LOVING GOD.

Romans 5:5 The love of god has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

1 Pet 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

THE “AGAPE” LOVE OF GOD CHANGES US AND ALLOWS US TO LOVE LIKE GOD LOVES. IT HELPS US TO SEE PEOPLE THE WAY GOD SEES PEOPLE.

Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
12 Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.
14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

18 So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”

IF PEOPLE ARE NOT FAITHFUL, GOD WILL TAKE WHAT WAS MEANT FOR ANOTHER PERSON AND GIVE IT TO YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE FAITHFUL.

NAS Luke 16:10 “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.

NLT Luke 16:10 “Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones.

THERE ARE BLESSINGS THAT GOD HAS DETERMINED TO POUR OUT ON OUR CITY.
THERE IS A WORK THAT MUST BE DONE IN EVERY TOWN, EVERY CITY, AND EVERY NATION!

Matt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Pass 1 Tim 1:5 For we reach the goal of fulfilling all the commandments when we love others deeply with a pure heart

H. HOSPITALITY

AMP Rom 12:13 Contribute to the needs of god’s people [sharing in the necessities of the saints]; pursue the practice of hospitality.

HOS·PI·TAL·I·TY N
A FRIENDLY WELCOME AND KIND OR GENEROUS TREATMENT OFFERED TO GUESTS OR STRANGERS

SYNONYMS – WELCOME, WARMTH, KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY

1 Tim 3:2 – ONE OF THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEADER IS THAT HE IS GIVEN TO HOSPITALITY.

NAS Heb 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

TO GROW WILL REQUIRE HOSPITALITY ON A NEW LEVEL.
LET’S BE A CHURCH THAT GIVES OTHERS THE ROYAL TREATMENT.
SERVING IS THE GREATIST ATTITUDE A HEART CAN DESIRE.

1 Pet 4:7 The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. 8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaint.

E. EVANGELISM – LOVING FROM THE HEART IS EVANGELISTIC.

NAS Mark 16:15 And he said to them, “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

IN THE BOOK OF ACTS THE CHURCH GREW AND MULTIPLIED DAILY.

Acts 2:41 so then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

POWER COMES AND LOVE FLOWS WHERE PEOPLE ARE.
BEING EVANGELISTIC IS SOMETHING WE HAVE TO WORK AT
A CHURCH THAT IS NOT MISSION MINDED, WILL BECOME A MISSION FIELD.
TO BE EVANGELISTIC GETS YOU OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.
A. ADAPTABLE – LOVING WITH HEART MEANS BEING ADAPTABLE.
1. ABLE TO ADJUST EASILY TO CHANGES AND NEW CONDITIONS
2. CAPABLE OF BEING MODIFIED TO SUIT DIFFERENT PURPOSES OR CONDITIONS – (PEOPLE)

THE BUILDING IS JUST A TOOL.
THE PEOPLE ARE THE TRUE CHURCH

BE WILLING TO CHANGE – ADAPT, TO DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO MEET PEOPLES NEEDS OR ACCOMADATE PEOPLE

THE BUILDING IS HERE FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT PEOPLE FOR THE BUILDING.

WE ARE NOT HERE TO BUILD A MONUMENT. WE ARE HERE TO REACH PEOPLE.

Overcoming Fear Pt 7

“Entering into rest”

Mark 4:35 On that day, when evening came, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him. 37 And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. 38 Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.

40 And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

2 Cor 4:13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak,

2 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.

WHEN IT COMES TO SPIRITS; THE KEY IS WHAT YOU YIELD TO OR WHAT YOU RESIST.

WE NEED TO HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FEAR.

LIVING FEAR FREE REQUIRES MIND RENEWAL.

IF YOU ARE STRESSED OUT… YOU ARE NOT RESTING SPIRITUALLY!

WE CAN WALK FEARLESS JUST LIKE JESUS DID.

THEIR RESPONSE WAS FEAR.

3 For we who have believed enter that rest,

WHEN YOU GENUINELY BELIEVE, YOU WILL ENTER REST.

3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,

“As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest,”

although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

WHAT’S GIVEN BY GRACE MUST BE POSSESSED BY FAITH.

4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this passage, “They shall not enter My rest.”

6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before,

“Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

THE TEMPTATION IS TO WALK BY SIGHT.

11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

THE REST IS A REAL PLACE WHERE WE ARE TO LIVE EVERY DAY!

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Change Your World By Adjusting Your Position

1 Pet 2:4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

9 But you are A chosen race, A royal priesthood, A holy nation, A people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

YOUR PURSUIT OF FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF LIFE YOU LIVE AND LIGHT YOU WALK IN

Heb 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

OUTWARD MANIFESTATIONS OF HIS GOODNESS ARE THE FRUIT OF INWARD EXPERIENCES WITH HIM.

Gen 12:7 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

ABRAHAM ALWAYS BUILT ALTARS.  THEY REPRESENT OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

ISAIAH 61:3 To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting (DESPAIR). So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

INCREASE IS ALWAYS A REFLECTION OF CLIMATE!

Ps 67:5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 6 Then the earth shall yield her increase;

NKJ Psa. 50:23 Whoever offers praise glorifies me and to him who orders his conduct (conversation) aright I will show the salvation of god.”

MESS Psa. 50:23 It’s the praising life that honors me. As soon as you set your foot on the way I’ll show you my salvation.”

PRAISE CHANGES THE CLIMATE AROUND YOU.

2 TYPES OF PRESENCE VITAL TO SUCCESS IN LIFE…

THE ABIDING PRESENCE… HE NEVER LEAVES OR FORSAKES US…

THE MANIFESTED PRESENCE OF GOD… ATMOSPHERE

TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO EXPERIENCE A HARVEST FROM A DRY SPIRITUAL CLIMATE.

GOD KNOWS HOW TO MAKE YOU BLOOM AND FLOURISH… BUT HE WON’T ALLOW IT WITHOUT HIM.

Ps 68:1 Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered,

WE ARE THE ONES WHO DETERMINES IF GOD IS ARISING OR NOT.

THE PRESENCE AND LIFE OF GOD WILL BRING THE CLIMATE FOR GROWTH AND INCREASE

THIS PRINCIPLE WILL BE ESTABLISHED DURING THE MILENEUM.

Zech 14:17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them.  (No Worship, no rain)

Ps 113:3 From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the Lord is to be praised.
