The Secret Of A Great Life

FOR THE BELIEVER WORSHIP MUST BECOME A PRIORITY!

DAVIDS HUMILITY AND DEPENDENCE ON GOD PRODUCED RIGHT PRIORITIES

DAVIDS PERSONAL PRIORITIES
AS A YOUNG SHEPHERD BOY HIS MAIN PURPOSE WAS TO ASSIST HIS FATHER AND SING SONGS TO THE LORD.

Kjv 1Sam. 16:18Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

A LIFE OF HONOR, RESPONSIBILITY AND WORSHIP PUTS EVERYTHING IN PERSPECTIVE

RIGHT PRIORITIES PRODUCE PROMOTION
Ex. DAVID’S MUSICAL TALENTS LANDED HIM A JOB RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF KING SAULS PALACE

PROMOTIONS BY GOD ARE NOT NECESSARILY EQUIVALENT TO PLEASURE BUT TO GREATER REALMS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO ADVANCE HIS KINGDOM.

DAVIDS SUSTAINING FACTORS DURING THESE DIFFICULT YEARS WAS HIS PERSONAL PRIORITIES TO HONOR GOD AND WORSHIP GOD

AT EVERY SEASON OF DAVID’S SEVENTY YEARS, YOU WILL FIND A WORSHIPPER.

DAVID, THE WORSHIPPING SHEPHERD-BOY BECAME
DAVID, THE WORSHIPPING ARMOUR BEARER, WHICH BECAME DAVID, THE WORSHIPPING FUGITIVE, WHICH BECAME
DAVID, THE WORSHIPPING KING OF JUDEA, WHICH BECAME
DAVID, THE WORSHIPPING KING OF ALL OF ISRAEL.

JOHN 4:23  The father seeks after worshippers

PERSONAL WORSHIP IS GOD’S PRIORITY FOR YOUR LIFE

A LIFE OF WORSHIP WILL PROPEL YOU INTO GOD’S DESTINY FOR YOUR LIFE

GOD HAS HIS WAY OF DOING THINGS.  HE IS A GOD OF ORDER.  (Psalm 100)

THE SECRET TO A GREAT LIFE, A GREAT MARRIAGE, FAMILY, MINISTRY AND CAREER

MAKING GOD’S PRESENCE OUR PRIORITY

DAVID’S FIRST TASK AS KING WAS TO RETRIEVE THE ARK OF GOD (2 Sam 6)

Kjv Col. 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Amp Psa. 23:6Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

Spiritual Things Pt 4

“Doors of Utterance”

2:9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

Prov 20:27 The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the innermost parts of his being.

11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,

13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised (Discerned, understood).

TPT 14 Someone living on an entirely human level rejects the revelations of God’s Spirit, for they make no sense to him. He can’t understand the revelations of the Spirit because they are only discovered by the illumination of the Spirit.

15 But he who is spiritual appraises (judges) all things, yet he himself is appraised (judged) by no one.      16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

REMEMBER PAUL TALKED ABOUT THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD

1 Cor 9:11 If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?

Acts 6:4 But we will give (Devote) ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

John 21:15-17 JESUS PUT EPHASIS ON FEEDING THE SHEEP

2 Tim 4:1-2 PAUL EMPHASIZED THE TOP PRIORITY OF THE WORD

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PRAY FOR AND RECEIVE THE WORD

Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

20th Cen “that when I begin to speak, words may be given to me”

NEB “That I may be granted the right words when I open my mouth”

BEK “That I will be told what to say”

Col 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door (Utterance) for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; 4 that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.

OUR PRAYERS AFFECT THE DOOR!  WE CAN GET A SERMON OR DOOR

IN Acts 4 THEY PRAYED CORPRATELY THAT GOD WOULD GRANT UNTO HIS SERVANTS BOLDNESS TO SPEAK THE WORD

IF THE DEVIL CAN INTIMIDATE THE SERVANTS OF GOD SO THAT THEY WON’T SPEAK… THEN THE HAND CAN’T MOVE.

THE VOICE OPENS THE WAY FOR THE HAND & THE SIGNS & WONDERS

29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

Jeri 1:4 Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

6 Then I said, “Alas, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak,

Because I am a youth.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak. 8 “Do not be afraid of (THEIR FACES) them, For I am with you to deliver you,” declares the Lord. 9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. 10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Knox 1:9 “I have inspired thy lips with utterance”. (RIVER OF UTTERANCE) – MAKES THE WHOLE BODY COME ALIVE

11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. 12 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.

Overcoming Fear Pt 11

“Faith & Hope vs Fear and Dread”

Mark 4 JESUS AND THE DISCIPLES ON THE LAKE IN A STORM.

Mark 4:40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Luke 8:50 Do not be afraid any longer; only believe

“WAVERING” – YIELDING TO ONE… THEN THE OTHER

WAVERING WILL HINDER YOU FROM RECEIVING

James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting (WAVERING), for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

DOUBT AND WAVERING HAVE TO DO WITH DOUBLE-MINDENESS.

THE WAY WE DEAL WITH FEAR IS TO RESIST IT AND REPLACE IT.
THE DEVIL LIKES TO PAINT PICTURES OF FAILURE AND DEFEAT.
THE MORE WE LOOK WE BEGIN TO EXPECT IT.

Job 3:25 “What I feared has come upon me, what I dreaded has happened”

FAITH HAS HOPE… FEAR HAS DREAD.   BOTH HAVE TO DO WITH THE FUTURE
NEVER LET YOUR PAST COLOR YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE.
EVERYTHING WE BELIEVE FOR HAS AN EXPECTATION TO IT
EVERYTHING YOU FEAR AND DREAD HAS AN EXPECTATION TO IT AS WELL

Prov 10:24 What the wicked fears will come upon him, But the desire of the righteous will be granted.

YOU GET WHAT YOU EXPECT
IF YOU HAVE FAITH YOU WILL HAVE HOPE.

Rom 8:24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

THE WORD HOPE HERE MEANS; EXPECTATION – CONFIDENT EXPECTATION
TO DREAD SOMETHING MEANS YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
FAITH WILL EXPECT SOMETHING NEW THIS YEAR… FAITH WILL BELIEVE FOR SOMETHING THAT HASN’T HAPPENED.

Spiritual Things Pt 3

“Divine utterance”

1 Cor 2:2 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spiritand of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; 7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdomwhich God predestined before the ages to our glory; 8 the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;

2:9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised (Discerned, understood).

15 But he who is spiritual appraises (judges) all things, yet he himself is appraised (judged) by no one.

16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Zch 4:4 Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Isa 10:27 and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

THE ANOINTING IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD.   Acts 10:38, Luke 4:18

1 Cor 9:10 Yes, for our sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops. 11 If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?

Acts 6:4 But we will give (Devote) ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

John 21:15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus *said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He *said to him, “Tend My lambs.” 16 He *said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He *said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” 17 He *said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus *said to him, “Tend My sheep.

2 Tim 4:1-2 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season;

1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

THERE IS ALWAYS A WORD FOR OUR SEASON!

Isaiah 50:4 The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned,

that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. 5 The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

ONE OF THE KEY’S TO REVELATION IS AN OBEDIENT HEART.

2 Tim 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PRAY FOR THE MINISTRY GIFT AND UTTERANCE

Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

Col 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; 3 praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door (Utterance) for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; 4 that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.

Spiritual Things Pt 2

“The Ministry of the Spirit”

John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

John 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

SMITH WIGGLESWORTH SAID, “THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS POWER OVER YOUR INTELLECT AND YOUR VOICE AND HE CAN MAGNIFY JESUS IN A WAY THAT YOU NEVER COULD WITHOUT HIS ASSISTANCE.

THERE ARE THINGS THAT CAN ONLY BE DONE BY THE SPIRIT

Zch 4:4 Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Isa 10:27 and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

THE ANOINTING IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD.   Acts 10:38, Luke 4:18

John 3:34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.

JESUS DID NOT DO ANYTHING APART FROM THE SPIRIT.

Matt 12:28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

2 Cor 3:6 for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

7 But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,

8 how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

1 Cor 9:10 Yes, for our sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops. 11 If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?

PAUL WAS TALKING ABOUT THE TEACHING OF THE WORD AS SPIRITUAL THINGS.  (2 Tim 3:16)

Romans 1:11 For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;

1 Cor 9:14 So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel.

Gal 6:6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Phil 4:15 You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; 16 for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.

17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account. 18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

1 Pet 2:4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdomwhich God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;

13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

THE EYE CAN’T SEE IT, THE EAR CAN’T HEAR IT, BUT THE MOUTH CAN SPEAK IT.

YOU WALK IN FREEDOM WHEN YOU WALK IN THE SPIRIT.

16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.

Overcoming Fear Pt 10

“The Fear of Man”

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.

Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.

Prov 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.

John 12:42 Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.

WHEN WE LET FEAR LEAD US WE ARE GOING TO END UP IN A BAD PLACE.

NLT Prov 29:25 Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.

TEV It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you

MSG The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that.

TPT Fear and intimidation is a trap that holds you back. But when you place your confidence in the Lord, you will be seated in the high place.

Gal 2:11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For prior to the coming of certain men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof, fearing the party of the circumcision.

WHEN WE MAKE DECISIONS OUT OF FEAR WE HAVE NO IDEA OF THE RIPPLE AFFECT.

Acts 4:23 When they had been released, they went to their own companions (Company) and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

ANYTIME YOU ARE IN TROUBLE YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND HELP IN YOUR OWN COMPANY.

THE WRONG COMPANY WILL PUT YOU ON A DIFFERENT PATH.

SEEKING THE LORD MEANS BEING AROUND THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

SEEKING THE LORD MEANS – IT’S GONNA COST YOU SOME PRAYER TIME.

THE ONLY WAY TO GET WHAT YOU NEED IS TO SEEK GOD AND NOT PEOPLE

Romans 12:2 do not be conformed…

Spiritual Things

“Spiritual eyes”

YLT 1 Cor 12:1 And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant;

TPT I don’t want you to be confused about spiritual realities.

12:4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.

7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good (for the profit of all).

NAS 1 Cor 2:9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

WHEN REVELATION COMES YOU SEE DIFFERENTLY.  SEEING IS ALSO KNOWING.

Ex. WHEN ADAM AND EVE SINNED WHAT HAPPENED?  THEIR EYES WERE OPENED…

Gen 3:5 For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS DOING RESEARCH.

2 Chr 16:9, Zch 4:10, 1 Pet 1:12

1 Kings 15:5 Because David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord

11 And Asa did right in the eyes of the Lord

16:25 But Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord

Prov 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good.

IT IS THE EYES OF THE SPIRIT THAT SEE INTO THE REALM OF REALITY.

Ezk 44:5 And the Lord said to me, Son of man, mark well and set your heart to see with your eyes and hear with your ears all that I say to you concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord and all its laws

PAUL PRAYED…

Eph 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened,

AMP Ps 13:3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; lighten the eyes [of my faith to behold Your facein the pitchlike darkness]

HEALING IS CONNECTED TO EYES SEEING AND EARS HEARING.

Matt 13:15 For the heart of this people has become dull, With their ears they scarcely hear, And they have closed their eyes, Otherwise they would see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, And understand with their heart and return, And I would heal them.’

1 Cor 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,

John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

THE HOLY SPIRIT ONLY COMES WHERE THE BLOOD IS.

WE NEED A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,
