AMP Eph 5:15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),
NKJV 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understandwhat the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
THE HOLY SPIRIT WORKS WITHIN OUR HEART (SPIRIT)
YLT 2 Cor 6:11 Our mouth hath been open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart hath been enlarged! 12 ye are not straitened in us, and ye are straitened in your [own] bowels, 13 and [as] a recompense of the same kind, (as to children I say [it],) be ye enlarged–also ye!
WNT 11 O Corinthians, our lips are unsealed to you: our heart is expanded. 12 There is no narrowness in our love to you: the narrowness is in your own feelings. 13 And in just requital–I speak as to my children–let your hearts expand also.
THE WORDS STRAIGHTENED OR NARROWNESS MEANS: TO HEM IN, TO RESTRICT
JUST LIKE THE ACORN HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A GIANT OAK TREE, WE WERE CREATED WITH A CAPACITY TO ENLARGE.
MSG 2 Cor 6:11 Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!
FOR US TO INCREASE AND EXPAND WE MUST INCREASE AND EXPAND IN HEART FIRST.
ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THAT RESTRICTS YOUR HEART, KEEPS YOU FROM RECEIVING IS A HARD HEART.
BEFORE SOMETHING CAN BE ENLARGED OR STRETCHED IT HAS TO BECOME FLEXABLE AND PLIABLE. IF IT’S HARD IT CAN’T EXPAND.
Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
GOD CREATED US WITH THE CAPACITY TO BE FULL OF GOD.
1 Kings 4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
NIV God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
MSG God gave Solomon wisdom—the deepest of understanding and the largest of hearts.
BEFORE THERE CAN BE AN OUTPOURING THERE HAS TO BE A RECEPTICAL TO RECEIVE IT.
THE MORE NARROW YOUR HEART THE MORE SELFISHNESS AND FEAR
THE BIGGER THE HEART THE MORE FEARLESS YOU ARE AND SELFLESS
Mark 8:15-22 Jesus rebuked the disciples for hardness of heart.
Matt 18:3 “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
WE NEED TO BE TENDERHEARTED. THAT’S A KEY TO EXPANSION.
Eph 4:17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20 But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Mark 8:17 Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart? 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?
