A Beautiful Life

  1. A beautiful life is one that is transforming

Romans 12:2 (TPB) “Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformedby the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think.  This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life…

2Cor. 3:18 (Message) All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

  1. A beautiful life is one that is satisfying and pleasing to God.

  1. 2…This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a BEAUTIFUL LIFE, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.”

Eph. 5:10 (NASV) …trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

Luke 9:62 (NKJV) Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

Prov. 16:7 (NASV) When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

  1. A beautiful life is one of surrender and worship

Romans 12:1 (TPB) “Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies?  I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices.  And live in holiness, experiencing all that delight his heart.  For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.”

Galatians 2:20 “It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.  The life I know live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who gave himself for me.”

  1. A beautiful life is one of humility

Romans 12:3 (TPB) “God has given me grace to speak a warning about pride.  I would ask each of you to be emptied of self-promotion and not create a false image of your importance.”

Phil 2:3-4 (TPB)  “Be filled from pride filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity.  Don’t allow self promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves.  Abandon every display of selfishness.  Posses a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests.”

‘Let His mindset become your motivation.’

Romans 12:16 (TPB) “Live happily together in the spirit of harmony, and be as mindful of another’s worth as you are your own.  Don’t live with a lofty mindset thinking you are too important to serve others, but be willing to do menial tasks and identify with those who are humble minded.  Don’t be smug or think for a moment you know it all.”

  1. A beautiful life is a giving life.

Romans 12:4 (TPB) “For though we are many, we’ve all been mingled into one body in Christ.  This means that we are all vitally joined to one another, with each contributing to the others.”

2 Cor 9:7 (TPB) “Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty.  Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving-all because God loves hilarious generousity.”

2 Cor. 8:7 (NIV) “But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you —see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

  1. A beautiful life is one devoted to loving others

Romans 12:9 (TPB) “Let the inner movement of your heart always be to love one another, and never play the role of an actor wearing a mask…

Romans 12:10 “Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as member of one family.  Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another.”

Romans 12:13 “Take a constant interest in the needs of God’s beloved people and respond by helping them.  And eagerly welcoming them as guests into your home.”

1 Peter 4:8 (TPB)  “Above all, constantly echo God’s intense love for one another, for love be a canopy over a multitude of sins.”

Prov. 19:11 (NASV) A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.

  1. A beautiful life is an enthusiastic life

Romans 12:11,12 (TPB)  “Be enthusiast to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boing hot!  Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him.”

  1. A beautiful life is an offense free life

Romans 12:19 “Beloved, don’t be obsessed with taking revenge, but leave that to God’s righteous justice.  For the Scriptures say, “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay.”
