Forget The Regrets

Pastor Donna Christian

Is. 43:18 NASB “Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.

Is. 43:19 “Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

Lam. 3:21 NKJV This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.

Lam. 3:22 Through the LORD’S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

Lam. 3:23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Forget the Regrets

Focus on the Future

Shut up, get up, look up, rise up, and I will lift you up!

Prov. 24:16 NKJV  For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again,

But the wicked shall fall by calamity.

Phil. 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

Apprehended-not fully grasping this, not understanding, not fully seizing, haven’t arrived…

put aside, deliberately ignore, purposefully disregard, completely forgotten’

Literally means, it should never be revisited, it should be left in the past, do not turn around and focus on it again. DON’T LIVE IN THE PAST.

Matt. 16:21 NKJV From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

Matt. 16:22  Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

Matt. 16:23  But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Psa. 40:1 NKJV  I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.

Psa. 40:2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay,

And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

Psa. 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.

Forgetting (turning away from) what lies behind (it is in the past, obsolete, can’t be changed, abandoned, never to be revisited…

“If you don’t put it behind you, it will mess with what’s before you.”

Phil 3:13-14 the Passion Bible

…I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.  I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory prize through the anointing of Jesus.

Phil:13 TPB  ‘I Don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this, however I do have one compelling focus:

Psa. 73:26 NKJV My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

  1. FOCUS

Heb. 12:1 NASV Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Heb. 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

What you continue to look at you will eventually move towards and become.

It is much easier to run, when you have less weight on you!  Whether it is a physical race or a spiritual race

And the more you run, the lighter you begin to be and live!!!!

Forget those things

Which are Behind

Reaching forward
