Mind Your Own Business
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 MSG
Stay calm; mind your own business; do your own job. You’ve heard all this from us before, but a reminder never hurts. We want you living in a way that will command the respect of outsiders, not lying around sponging off your friends.
NLT
Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.
TPT
Aspire to lead a calm and peaceful life as you mind your own business and earn your living, just as we've taught you. By doing this you will live an honorable life, influencing others and commanding respect of even the unbelievers.
John 21:18 ESV
18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.”
19 (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”
20 Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?”
21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?”
22 Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”

FOLLOWING JESUS - To become your truest self, and your truest self is a child of God, and that child is to interact with the Father
1. DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF, FORGIVE YOURSELF
2 Corinthians 10:12
12 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
IT DOES NOT HELP YOU WHEN YOU COMPARE, IT ACTUALLY HURTS YOU
2. DON’T REGRET, JUST FORGET
PSALM 103:12
He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
THE NUMBER 1 THING YOUR LIFE IS ABOUT IS GOD LOVING YOU
WHEN WE DON’T LET GOD LOVE US, WE BECOME UNSURE OF OUR LOVE FOR HIM. AND WE START TO MAKE DECISIONS THAT ARE NOT OUR TRUEST SELF
ROMANS 8:14-18
The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. For the Holy Spirit makes God's fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God's beloved child!” And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself.
