Overcoming Fear Pt 11

“Faith & Hope vs Fear and Dread”

Mark 4 JESUS AND THE DISCIPLES ON THE LAKE IN A STORM.

Mark 4:40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Luke 8:50 Do not be afraid any longer; only believe

“WAVERING” – YIELDING TO ONE… THEN THE OTHER

WAVERING WILL HINDER YOU FROM RECEIVING

James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting (WAVERING), for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

DOUBT AND WAVERING HAVE TO DO WITH DOUBLE-MINDENESS.

THE WAY WE DEAL WITH FEAR IS TO RESIST IT AND REPLACE IT.
THE DEVIL LIKES TO PAINT PICTURES OF FAILURE AND DEFEAT.
THE MORE WE LOOK WE BEGIN TO EXPECT IT.

Job 3:25 “What I feared has come upon me, what I dreaded has happened”

FAITH HAS HOPE… FEAR HAS DREAD.   BOTH HAVE TO DO WITH THE FUTURE
NEVER LET YOUR PAST COLOR YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE.
EVERYTHING WE BELIEVE FOR HAS AN EXPECTATION TO IT
EVERYTHING YOU FEAR AND DREAD HAS AN EXPECTATION TO IT AS WELL

Prov 10:24 What the wicked fears will come upon him, But the desire of the righteous will be granted.

YOU GET WHAT YOU EXPECT
IF YOU HAVE FAITH YOU WILL HAVE HOPE.

Rom 8:24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

THE WORD HOPE HERE MEANS; EXPECTATION – CONFIDENT EXPECTATION
TO DREAD SOMETHING MEANS YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
FAITH WILL EXPECT SOMETHING NEW THIS YEAR… FAITH WILL BELIEVE FOR SOMETHING THAT HASN’T HAPPENED.
