“The River of Edification”

2Tim. 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

EDEN IS A PICTURE OF THE BELIEVER LIVING IN FELLOWSHIP AND IN HARMONY WITH GOD. FRUITFUL… John 15

Gen. 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

PISON – TO BE GROWN UP FAT… TO BE MADE FAT… THE PICTURE OF FULLNESS.

GIHON – TO LABOR, BRING FORTH, TO GUSH FORTH
TO BURST FORTH FROM A HIDDEN SOURCE

GIHON REPRESENTS THE FLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO REVEAL TO US.

TIGRIS (HIDEKEL)
THE LANGUAGE OF THE MESOPOTAMIANS – TI GRE’ MEANS “VEHEMENT” – POWER

THE TIGRIS IS A PICTURE OF THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

EUPHRATES – A PICTURE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT’S WORK OF INTERCESSION IN THE BELIEVER.

1. PISON – EDIFICATION – FULLNESS – Eph 5:18 “Be being filled”

1 COR 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. 4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the Church. 5 Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the Church may receive edifying

3 But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.

THE RESULTS ARE (EDIFICATION, EXHORTATION, COMFORT)

YOUR SPIRIT IS NOT LIMITED BY YOUR MINDS LACK OF UNDERSTANDING WHEN YOU PRAY IN OTHER TONGUES.

4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself;

Jude 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit
