The Blood’s Provision
2 Cor 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
JESUS PROVIDED 2 MAIN VICTORIES OVER SATAN
HE MADE IT POSSIBILE FOR US TO OBTAIN FORGIVENESS OF SIN
TO RECEIVE GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH.
Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. NOTICE THAT PHRASE… “JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD”
THERE ARE AT LEAST 3 OTHER THINGS THE BLOOD DOES FOR US
Nas 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
THE FIRST RESULT IS FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER,
THE SECOND RESULT IS THAT WE ARE CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
THE BLOOD OF JESUS DOES NOT CLEANSE IN THE DARK, BUT ONLY AS WE WALK IN THE LIGHT.
HOW DO WE WALK IN THE LIGHT?
WE MUST WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD.
Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp to my feet, And a light to my path.
WE MUST HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER.
Eph 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ,
WALKING IN THE LIGHT CONSIST OF TWO ACTIONS PUT TOGETHER.
1 WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD
2 WALKING IN TRUTH AND LOVE WITH FELLOW BELIEVERS
“AS I WALK IN THE LIGHT, THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS CLEANSING ME FROM ALL SIN NOW AND CONTINUALLY”
TO SANCTIFY MEANS “TO MAKE HOLY” – TO MAKE HOLY MEANS: “TO SET SOMETHING APART TO GOD”
Heb 13:12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
THE USE OF BLOOD FOR SANCTIFICATION IS CLEAR IN THE PASSOVER
Ex. 11:4 And Moses said, “Thus says the LORD, ‘About midnight I am going out into the midst of Egypt, 5 and all the first-born in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first-born of the Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the first-born of the slave girl who is behind the millstones; all the first-born of the cattle as well. 6 ‘Moreover, there shall be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been before and such as shall never be again. 7 ‘But against any of the sons of Israel a dog shall not even bark, whether against man or beast, that you may understand how the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.’
THIS SEPERATION (DISTINCTION) WAS BECAUSE OF THE BLOOD!
“THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS, I AM SANCTIFIED, MADE HOLY, SET APART TO GOD. THE DEVIL HAS NO PLACE IN ME, NO POWER OVER ME, NO UNSETTLED CLAIMS AGAINST ME. ALL HAS BEEN SETTLED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS”
Heb. 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.
