Upon a Cross
ONE OF THE GREATEST ASPECTS OF OUR REDEMPTION IS THE HEALING GRACE OF GOD.
HEALING WAS A BENEFIT THAT WAS PROVIDED UNDER THE OLD COVENANT.
Exodus 23:25 But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. 26 There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.
Ps 103:3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases
Ps 107:20 He sent His Word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions
TO OBTAIN THIS BELIEF… 3 AREAS OF THE WORD TO LOOK TO
1. TYPES AND SHADOWS…
A. THE PASSOVER LAMB…
THE PASSOVER LAMB TYPIFIES CHRIST ON THE CROSS.
Exodus 12 – INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING THE LAMB
1 Cor 5:7 For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.
B. THE BRONZE SERPENT…
John 3:14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
Numb 21:9 And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.
John 12:32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.”
JESUS IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE TYPES AND SHADOWS.
2. THE WORKS OF JESUS!
Matt 8:2 And behold, there came to him a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3 And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway his leprosy was cleansed.
16 And when even was come, they brought unto him many possessed with demons: and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick: 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: Himself took our infirmities, and bare our diseases.
3. THE PLAN OF REDEMPTION!
Gal 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
1 Peter 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows (Pains) and acquainted with grief (Sickness) 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs (Sicknesses), and carried our sorrows (Pains); yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
THROUGH THE PLAN OF REDEMPTION IT’S EASY TO SEE THAT IT IS GOD’S WILL FOR ME TO BE WELL AND IT FORMS OR STRENGTHENS WHAT I BELIEVE.
FF BOSWORTH “IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BOLDLY CLAIM BY FAITH A BLESSING THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE GOD IS OFFERING”
