-Dr. Shirley Christian-

“and in Him you have been made complete.” (Col 2:10)

“Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love, marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was his purpose and good pleasure,”
Eph 1:4-5

“And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the plan of the One who guides all things as he decides by his own will,”
Ephesians 1 :11

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; (Romans 8:29)

Gen 37:7 beginning in verse 4,  And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.  And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 6And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

WHAT IS REJECTION:   Lack of acceptance and approval–if it takes other’s  acceptance to build us up, then their rejection will devastate us. Rejection underminds our sense of significance and self esteem.

Eccl 7:21 Also, do not take seriously all words which are spoken, so that you will not hear your servant cursing you.

How did Jesus handle rejection: Matthew 13:57

And they were offended by him. by him. But Jesus told them, “A prophet is without honor only in his hometown and in his own home.” …

John 8:14 I know where I came from and where I am going

John 8:29 The one whosent me is with me; he has not left me alone …… I always do what pleases him … And he that sent me is with me:the Father has not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him….

“ For my father and my mother have forsaken me, But the LORD will take me up.” Ps 27:10

Ps 118:8 middle verse in the bible. It is better to trust in God than trust in man.

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2. He holds your hand

Isaiah 41:10 Do Not Fear, For I Am With You; Do Not Be Dismayed, For I Am Your God. I Will Strengthen You And Help You; I Will Uphold You With My Righteous Right Hand.

3. When God begins, he is already finished!

“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,10Declaring the end from the beginning,  And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’ Isa 46:9-10

4. Keep at the forefront of your mind:

The devil’s purpose is always to destroy the inner portrait of ourselves in Christ. If what you see now is not what you know and the inner portrait of yourself, then it is onlytemporary.

(Numbers 23:19) God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?

5, What are you speaking?

2 Cor 4:14, I believed there fore I spoke

John 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

First step in overcoming rejection is of course complete forgiveness.

Second, experience the Father’s love; He is the source.

Meditate on who you are until the inner portrait is so secure that the devil can’t change it.
